Dr Vlasios Sotiropoulos, known as Dr Bill, is a dentist at Maryborough Dental in Maryborough. He brings a kind, easygoing manner to his work and enjoys getting to know the people behind the smiles.
A Thoughtful Approach to Dentistry
Dr Bill studied dentistry at the University of Sydney. One lesson from Professor Rory Hume stuck with him: consider oral health in the context of the whole person. That idea still shapes how he works.
His favourite part of the job? Finding answers. When something isn’t right, he wants to get to the bottom of it. Funnily enough, it was his mum and teachers who reckoned dentistry would suit him. Turns out they were onto something.
Thinking Long Term
Dr Bill takes a long-term view of dental care. He enjoys helping patients understand their options and think about their teeth and gums for the decades ahead.
He’s a member of the Australian Dental Association and holds a radiation licence.
Family, Footy, and Life on the Water
Dr Bill’s parents left hardship in Greece for a new life in Australia, a place they saw as paradise. They raised two sons. Today, Dr Bill is a proud dad to two sons of his own, aged 19 and 21.
Outside the practice, you’ll usually find him surfing, scuba diving, or fishing on the water (the Fraser Coast has no shortage of spots for that). He’s also a self-confessed sports nut who follows soccer, cricket, and every code of footy going. Love your sport? You’ll have plenty to chat about.
